Foundational Anatomical Terminology

This lesson was developed to teach you the foundational anatomical terminology you will encounter while working with the Sectra Virtual Anatomy tables, including:

• Anatomical position
• Anatomical planes
• Terms of relationship and comparison
• Terms of laterality

This lesson was also developed to help you become more familiar with the VHDissector tools, and how to navigate the Virtual Anatomy modules you will complete during your upcoming Anatomy Lab sessions.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

• Recognize and describe foundational anatomical terms;
• Describe the position/location of structures of the body using anatomical terminology; and
• Use VH Dissector tools to locate and view structures of the body.
